Obverse
Numerous diagonal die scratches throughout the obverse, these are traveling NE-SW in the west and north whereas NW-SE die scratches can be seen through the date. Die scratches are strongest through LIBERTY, in particular around BER, and also the 197 of the date.
Reverse
Light, diagonal, nearly horizontal die scratches can be seen through CENT and again NW of the cornice in the field. Diagonal die scratches arch around the designer's initials (FG).
