Does anyone have information or know where I can get information on double die varieties for Canadian coinage. I ran acrossed this ??? Double Die 1965 (Type II) Canadian 1 Cent and would like to learn more. Hub doubling vs. mechanical doubling, value & rarity etc..... Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard Psgen! I've got a double die 1962/962 Canadian Cent. It was a gift from someone on Ebay. Great coin to look at.

I really like Canadian coins. I havent run into any doubled dies yet though. My local shop had a run of Large Cents from about 1896 thru 1904 recently. Nice looking coins. I have a 1921 Canadian dime that has some very impressive neon toning. But there are a few people that bid who specialize in Canadians so if I get one it is very unusual.

pSGEN, i REALIZE THIS IS A BIT LATE, AND YOU NO DOUBT HAVE FOUND some one that has helped you, but, I would suggest Ken Potter. He is pretty well informed in that respect. You might check the CONECA site. You can see it all, there. Happy hunting, Dick
PS. Please excuse the caps. My dainty fingers hit keys that don't even exist, at times!

Coop, that's a very interesting penny! I have to admit, I haven't researched DDs for Canada because other than some repunched dates, the info is scarce. Still, I wonder about this coin, because with that much displacement visible in the date, shouldn't we also see some doubling in the maple leaf tip nearest the 9, and that slender stem just above the 2? Perhaps it's there, and I just don't see it--or possibly this coin is actually a repunched date?
