David,
I used your photo and layered over the site photo and the MM looks to be in the same location. I think you may have the 1934D1MM-003 but I am not the expert here. I may take coin in hand by one of them.

It is 1934D-1MM-003. I knew it as soon as I opened the thread, but it appears that Steven figured it out before I got here. Good snoop work Steven!

David,
What I was saying is that that RPM-3 is punched 4 times according to the Cherry Pickers book and pictures.
In their photo you can see 3 of the 4 Ds. The primary (main one) and the one below you see plus the edge of one above it.
Probably the top one only shows on the early state of the coin but yours is a later state.
You can be sure it's RPM-3 based on what CD said. He's the best expert!
You asked what to do with it.
That's up to you, you could put it in a flip and label it RPM-3 or sell it to someone as RPM-3 or you could have it graded as RPM-3.
Since you know it's RPM-3 if you sent it to a company like ANACs you can save money by telling them it's RPM-3 just having them verify it instead of attributing it.
The way it works with ANACs is you can pay for grading then if you want it attributed and the variety listed on the holder you pay $10 extra but if you only want it verified you pay grading plus $5 extra (instead of $10). The only risk is if your attribution was wrong they won't list it on the holder if you only paid $5 verification. If you paid $10 for attribution they figure it out for you. In this case you know it's RPM-3.
(anacs grading fee is $12 for economy 21 day service plus attribution fee or verification plus shipping, it's not chaep)
Another thing is it's listed in the Cherry Pickers book so ANACs can put their number if you want that instead of just RPM-3, the old cherry pickers number for it is FS-013.81 but I think they automaticaly use their new numbering system.
(on their form you would say FS-013.81 RPM-3)
Seems like you get more money with CPG numbers on the holder than just the RPM # because some collectors like to collect them with CPG numbers.
Another thing is you can send it to PCGS and they will attribute with the CPG number as long as you pay for verification. PCGS will only list certain well known varieties but this coin is one of the ones they will list because it's in the CPG.
Grading is your choice, some people would rather put it in a flip, others want every nice variety graded and in a holder.
Probably to sell it you get the most money in a PCGS holder.
If it was me I would never send a single coin, if you want it graded wait until you have a group and read their price info, you get a better deal based on sending more plus you save on shipping back and fourth.
I also watch for the same coins being sold graded on ebay just to see if it's worth grading. The CPG says EF-$8 AU-$18. This site says F-$5 VF-$10 EF-$15 so that gives you an idea that it is not worth much more than the grading fees but you might get more if it was graded. Everyone has different ideas of what if anything is worth grading. Another thing to remember is if the coin has been cleaned or damaged PCGS won't put it in a holder, ANACs will but they state cleaned or damaged on the holder. I bet Dick will say don't bother with grading, other might say do it, I'm split
OK one last point.... the CPG also lists URS numbers, that tells how many of that coin they thought exist when they wrote the book. This coin is URS-8 that means between 65 and 125 is how many they thought exist so it's fairly tough to find. That's why some folks would want it graded or just be happy to find it.

David, you just got the best advice I could offer. It is up to you. Some of us are in it "for the money", others for the "fun of it". Depending on many factors, your age, for one, among many. If you are young enough that you still work, and are looking to the future, that retirement check may, or may not be there, so it behooves one to "look out for number one"! I am retired, and have been for many years, so I'm in it "for the fun", and to keep an old man busy! Listen to the ones who have been around here longer than you, and I. They know what they would do. The rest is up to you.

Dick, Thank you for your reply. I was hoping I would hear a response from you because you have alway's responded to my post's.
I am 44 yr's old. this hobby is just like any other except it's not hard on the body.(softball, racquetball, basketball, and sex) are all hard on the body.
This hobby has opend my eyes, when I get change from anyone or any machine I alway's look at the Date's(Habit). I'm not the only one that does that at work.
I do know what your saying Dick, I need some time to decide if I want to and the price. Everything is a penny to me now.
What would you do? Sell or keep. I've only started lookin.
If this make's sence, then you will understand.

Ed, I appreciate your input, you are very informative on your practice of how to; when it comes to a coin or coins.
I also would like to thank you for the comment's and recommendations in your post's.
As you have read in my post's, I really don't know what I have but I know I have something. I know I cant' buy a Yatch yet but buy your comment's and other's I have come to the conclusion that it may be worth the trouble to send it off of have it attributed by a reputable dealer. PCGS. This make's bell's and whistles go off. I know I need to wait and see.
If Bob will give his advice or copper coins on what to do I will take heed on there advice since they are the expert's.
Ed, I do respect your opinion and recommendation's on anything concerning a RPM. Heck if it weren't for you and Stephen, I wouldn't even known what I had.

One of the fun things about variety hunting is there's no rush, it's not work. The coin you find can sit and wait.
Most people get something graded early on in their hunting hobby and if it goes wrong, low grade or no attribution or they just made a mistake sending a low value coin in then they never feel like getting things graded again.
My advice is let it sit, keep looking. In time you might change focus maybe only DDOs or only RPMs or some date range. Sometimes at that point people trade stuff or sell it to get what they like best or sell it all if they need money. After you find more stuff and decide your focus area you might send a few you like for grading.
I won't send much because it starts being an expensive hobby.
Grading is mostly for high value or very nice ones or to make selling easier. With the money saved get more rolls to search, search more stuff and you find more better stuff.
Once in a while I can't resist
