Coop or Steven

I have got to get this program. I like how you and Steven post your picture's.

I looked online and the price is 650.00 for the latest version. Am I looking at the right program?

Are there a cheaper version out there somewhere?

Thank's

Rhubarb

David: Check Ebay for an older edition. The edition I have now is the Photoshop 5.5. It is older now, but the price then was in the $699 range. I got the educational edition for $389. But you can still get that edition for a lot less if you can find someone who is selling their older version. I don't think you can do better with this program. I've had mine for years and still learning. There are so many features that you can use or even better, use the program to do something you want. It is worth money. But buying the latest edition? I think I would rather flush my money down the toilet rather than pay a higher price. The program works great in older editions. But I would watch that you get the program on CD rom as most of the new computers don't have the floppy disks. I'll have to always have one as my camera uses a floppy disk. I don't plan on retiring it anytime soon. The orginal camera I have take over 10,000 photos with. I bought a back up one when my camera retires. But I will stick to that setup as it works for me.

I decided against GIMP.
I was able to get new drivers for my ATI TV wonder card, and now I have my Composite video back!
I was able to download adobe Photoshop updates for the 5.5. But My _MSSetup.exe file is corrupt, and I can't open the update. SO, I'm back to square one. I have to go check if Office depot has the elements for Photoshop, and if I can do anything with it. I don't know what they, (elements) are comprised of. Or if they work independant of the Photoshop program.

Some years ago I purchased Adobe photoshop Elements. It was on sale for about 20 bucks. Ever since then I have carried it with me from Windows up to XP. For some reason I have been able to get free up grades, Then Photo Shop then adobe Photoshop Album 2 then albun 3, I now have Photoshop 7 and Photo shop Image ready. I am not sure how this happened but i get periodic up dates also. Be that as it may The only thing I ever use in Photoshop Elements 2. The others I either cannot figure out or they do too much and are too confusing for me.~lucky2

Did they come on floppies, or CD?
I have Photoshop 2.5, but the .exe file is corrupt, and I can't install. It is on floppies.
With the price they charge for the program, the updates, etc SHOULD be free!

Lucky2, that looks like my only option. I hope it won't be too expensive for my budget!

That will be the next thing I do after I get my TV card installed, and working properly! THen I can copy the four floppies to Photoshop directory, and then maybe get some help from the manufacturer. I lost all my video display, recently, and maybe tonight, it will be back!

The TV tuner card doesn't bring up the video, so that is a bust, I giess.
LATER: I now have the composite video, again!
I still have other options, and the Photoshop upgrade, or update, is one. I put a floppy drive in my new, (Gift from XYL), computer. I wouldm't be without a floppy drive!, or a ZIP drive, either! I copied the four floppies to the C:\ drive, (not expanded yet), and hope to get an exe file to install.
The only problem is that I have the update, but can't access it, because it is destined for C:\program.exe, and I don't know how to get it into the photoshop program. It would be nice to know how to "run" one of these things, instead of just how to build the darn things. Any ideas? Anyone?

Dick, Check with your local office Depot or Staples or a local computer store. They just might have Photoshop elements on sale and if they do it should be prity cheap.~lucky2

I hadn't considered that as an option, but It is worthy of a check into. Thanks. I have Coreldraw, but don't have the faintest about how to use it. I need another "COOP" with expertice in that program. Who knows, maybe there are others with it, too? Thanks again, ~Lucky2
