Curly got me to thinking about my IHC's so I took a look at a few and found this. Looks to be a repunching of the 9 to the south of the loop and the 07 in the denticles. I used photoshop to layer and it matches. what do ya think about thhis one. Is it a know RPD or maybe something else.
Thanks Steven

Steven: On your second image with the arrpws on the denticles. Look to the left three marks over and see a mark on the denticles from the lower left arrow. Looks like something going on with the 9. But not sure how it fits in with the rest of the date. Almost looks like the top part of a 1 on the 9 in the date? Interesting

I do believe it is a repunched date into the denticles. As far as which one it might be, I don't have the reference material here to verify that.

COOP,
I SAW THAT BUT WASN'T SURE WHAT TO THINK ABOUT IT. ON THE THIRD ARROW AT THE BOTTOM I AM JUST INDICATING ONE DENTICLE BUT THERE ARE THREE CLOSED AT THE TOP THAT COINCIDE WITH THE TOP OF THE 7.
i MAY TRY SOME MORE LAYERING TO TRY ND MATCH UP THE OTHER, LOOKS LIKE IT MAY BE THE INSIDE LOWER LOOP OF THE 9 IF THE DISTANCE IS RIGHT FROM THE OTHER NUMBERS.
DO YOU HAVE AN IDEA OF A GRADE FOR THIS ONE. I WAS THINKING EF BUT THE CHEEK SEEMS TO BE FLATTENED A BIT MUCH.
THANKS STEVEN

Looks to be that the top part of the 9 does show in the denticles as well.

Looks EF-40, but the LIBERTY is too mushy. On a VF-20 coin all the letters must show, but yours doesn't. So it may have taken a hit that made the marks on the cheek and the mushy look on LIB?
I thought I could make out the top of the 9.

Looks like the two arrows to the left point to the top of the "9", and the single arrow indicates the top of the "0". Nice eyeballing! All I saw was the piece of the "9" inside the lower loop of the "9".

Steven, your last photo, shows the part of the "9", that I referred to. I hadn't seen the orher parts, until it was pointed out, then they too, became obvious. Nice photograph
Dick.

I checked my Snow Attribution guide and found your Snow numbers. The first Indian looks like Snow 14 and has 3 digits in the deticles. The second coin looks like Snow 26. Hope this helps. Steve

Forget the coin shops, go on the internet. I was able to shop for price and got volumns 1 & 2 from Telesphere Numismatics--they appear to be readily available. Volumn 6 is nearly impossible to fine in spiral bound (I did find one but they had very limited inventory at Stanton Books). I got all 3 volumns just last month. Rick Snow only has volumn 6 is loose-leaf form--check his web site, which may be the only source once Stanton Books sells out. Steve

Nice Job on the Photography Steven. I don't know that much about Indian Head's.

Steve, would you by chance have a link to Telesphere Numismatics? This is the first I have heard of re IHC, and being as I have a few, maybe I can find out bit about them. THanks.
Dick
