Bob, the bars, pregnant, or otherwise, I can live with, but what has begun to irritate me, is the shot-gun rolls that RUIN the end coins in every roll, due to the "end-currling" machine, grinding, or cutting a big slice in the coins! I have several 2007P, with wavysteps, that have been scraped to the point of being useless, other than for tossing into the junk box!
Opinions?
Dick

Dick,
I couldn't agree with you more. In gereral, coin rolling and crimping machines seem to destroy a lot ore coinage than we think. You say it irritates you, but sometimes that is putting it mildly. I have an otherwise very nice 1970S small date coin that took a beating from a crimping mahine. I would venture to say that it was at least an MS65, now reduced to trash because of it. No use crying over it though, but it does tend to just plain piss you off when that happens.

Bob, I was not aware of the extent that it apparently happens, because I don't get the "shot-gun" type rolls very often. David sent me 10 of the 2007P mint rolls, and 7 out of 10 rolls had both ends trashed!.
It takes a while to find the way to load, and un-load a condom-type wrap, but I haven't seen any "new" uncirculated rolls of this type, yet, so I don't know if there is any "inherant" damage to them.

Often people call those scratches "coin counter damage" but I agree you guys are totaly right, it's from the crimping tool and yes it messes up about half of the end coins with that mega gouge. Sad when that gets a nice DDO!!!! Crying or Very sad

Yes, ED, and in this case it was a nice DDR, a wavysteps, that I could actually see! FWIW, the 07's seem to have a lot of WS, in the "P"'s that I ghave looked at, thanks to David.
In case this don't make sense, (as usual), i just got back from the bank, and grocery stores, and am blind as a bat. Not to mention that the lettering on the keys is disappearing!, on the lwtters I use most!
