Yep another extra eyelid!

They grow them while we think they are resting in those tubes and rolls Wink

I am not absolutely sure this is an extra eyelid. This particular one looks like a die gouge.

Possibly so Bob. I jumped to a conclusion without consultation. It is a bit lower than one might expect one to be.
Thanks,
Steven

The last batch of wheats I went thru, not only were there no extra eye lids, there were no eyes, ears, nose, beard etc. Real beat up junk. It was like trying to find a marker on a penny that went down the disposal.

Yea might be a gouge, mostly because of how it does not look rounded and has sort of a blunt end. I see what Bob means Wink

The angle also looks incorrect and you can see a mark on the cheek where the gouge continues. Even a bad find is educational. Leaves a heads up for others reading the thread.

With all this being said, 1941 offers an abundance of doubled eyelids, and some very nice ones also. Be sure to look north of the primary eyelid as well as there are at least 3 dies with the doubling that way up. Another point to consider when you find doubled eyelids for 1941 is that on a few of those varieties, there is other doubling as well, including doubling on the first T of TRUST. Both 1941 and 1942 have a lot to offer with some very nice doubled eyelids.

I don't believe that one is a doubled die. It is the wrong shape, sharpness, and angle to be a doubled eyelid.
