I've been taking a break from searching cents lately, but my son brought me some pennies to check for him. He said he needed a new pair of jeans, lol. He had about a handful, a roll maybe and I looked carefully at each one. This is the only one that looked promising to me. It's a 2007P cent that shows a little doubling of RTY, especially evident in the Y. I also noticed a slight notch in the right side base of the 2 in the date.
It's available to send to Bob or Chuck in case they think it might be worth listing here.

Murph,
Yours is definitely a DDO, but it looks like another that I examined about 2 months ago. At that time, I determined it was just too minor to list, and this coin looks like it is in the same category. Either way, please hold on to it. So far this year, it is the strongest DDO seen.

Roger that...my son wants me to sell it on eBay so he can buy a new pair of jeans. It's his coin and I only found it in a pile of his coins, so I may not be hanging on to it for very long, lol. Thanks Bob.

Could be, a bit of "fatherly pursuasion", towards becoming a variety collector, could be gotten with the "price of a new pair of jeans"! Right?

I wonder why the 2005 and 2006 lincolns were so abundant with double dies but the 2007's are slow to produce anything. I still have 2 boxes I picked up in feb that I haven't gone thru yet. I like circ rolls a lot more for searching and tend to stick with it. Usually I need some kind of motivation to search unc rolls like a good DDO or DDR that was already found such as the 2006 017. Maybe everyone is like me and waiting for someone else to find something good.

Could be the mint is searching the dies closer for these apearing doubled dies or they found the problems with the setup problem that was making them. They want us to keep looking harder so they can figure out what areas to watch for.

Rock, if those two boxes you got in feb, are the same general "vintage" as those you sent me, then you can be sure that there are many cracked heads, and weak wavy asteps.. The 2005-D are as baren as any I've seen. Nothing to date. I gave up on the D cents, because they don't have anything. Even the "bag marks" are weak!

Something to keep in mind folks...The two major doubled dies for 2006 were not found until late in the year. You need to remember that new dies are put into service regularly. Although 2007 has yet to produce a big time Doubled Die, I would still look at all that pass through your fingers. You never know when the next biggie will make an appearance.
