I was amazed how these costly first spouse coins sold out in a few hours! Maybe the buyers are all going to try to turn them for instant profit. Sounds like chaos for anyone trying to order them. Laughing

I know. Harlan Berk's has some on their website. Pr69 DCAM $725. What is the attraction?? I could buy some serious scarce or rare numismatic material, even gold, for the cost of just a few of those. Rolling Eyes

The saying that P.T. Barnum made that there is a sucker born every minute; Well takes a scammer to make the buyer a sucker and they are what I call bottom feeders. They buy something that only goes down in value as they keep holding. Best to just hang on to what you find and see where the market goes. Presidential coins & Wives seems like a program that won't creat enough interest to keep people really interested all the way through. Look how much momentum was been lost in the State Quarter Series. Most people have given it up from what I see. Its still got several States to complete the series and no one talks about the series much anymore. Probably most the coins saved will end up in coinstars/vending machines/spent.

Maybe it is just me, or wishful thinking, but I would venture that the gold items, et al, are more for the gold "future", than for the numismatic value. The gold futures are much more volitle, than the "collectors markst. Sooo, put your faith, (and money) in gold.
As far as the states series goes. I think they were a worthwhile venture. There are still 5 states to be done, and the balance of this year have yet to arrive,, but I believe it was worthy of the time, and expendentures. I am collecting year/rolls of each, and also a set of the "P/D" pairs. Not to mention the albums, as well. My pleasure now, someones headache, later. Everything but the cents are, more or less organized, but when they get to the cents.....they will just toss them into rolls, and cash them in! Little do they know, they will be throwing away, much more that they realize. So much for "kids"!
Enjoy your "vacation", Coop, and only cross the bridge over the Colorado River in the daytime, because not only is the drop liable to hurt you, the water may be cold, too. No problem at night, with the water, because they shut the river off at night, at Davis Dam.

When are they going to come out with the presidential girlfriends coins? It will take years to mint the Kennedy and Clinton era coins. I have a feeling they never had a hobby like collecting variety lincolns.
