Coin World Oct 29 issue -- A collector in Michigan has apparently found a BU 69-S DDO in a roll. It is authentic, according to our buddy Ken.

I think I read somewhere $85,000.00 was top dollar so far on that die. Correct me if I'm wrong.
That would make my day as well.
Wonder how he come across the roll, e-bay, coin show, grandpa.

Long time lurker, first time poster-
I met him at the local coin show today, nice guy. He would not divulge who he bought his roll from. I see him at all the coin shows around here, I know if I get there after him all of the good cherry picking is already done. He said he would be getting the coin back next week from grading, had to pay $175 each way for the Brinks truck to ship it. He also said that Ken is going to sell it for him privately. I asked who he got the roll from and he said the person would not sell any more to him and if I wanted to know it would cost me(he was kidding). I forgot to ask if it was an OBW roll, I doubt it was, as there are never any at these shows, mostly rolls that have been open. He did say he bought it locally. Anyways it was kind of nice to see the blow ups he had of the coin and the Coin World front page article he had with him.

Welcome Chrsb!
That's a good story.
If I found that coin I'd walk it in for same day grading!
I wonder if his source had other rolls, maybe more of those coins will get found.

I hope the guy throws a bone to the person who sold him the roll.
This is my 600th post. Drinks are on the house.
