Had an old jar of 55D's that turned up not one, but 2 nice DDO's. I love when you hit a nice streak.

JRocco,
Some nice finds. It's been a while since I have had a batch of wheats to go through. I think it's time I tried to find some more to search.

JRocco and Steven, I hate to think about "JARS"! I left my crown sized mexican collection behind, when I moved all our stuff from AZ tp CA. It et was months before I discovered ths loss! I still get sick to my stomach!
Anyway, those are nice finds. I have a ton of wheats, that one day, must be searched again, necause all I had looked for was die dents, and RPM's. That was before I joined the forun, "OUR forum"
Dick.

Probably the 55-D that also has the doubled eye?

I've read in old coin magazines that years ago these were being sold for almost $200 but it seems many have been found and they go for much less nowdays. It's a nice variety.

I had the same sort of luck on a circulated roll of 1946S coins yesterday. I found two of the 1946S-1DO-001/1946S-1MM-004 dual variety coins in the same roll. Nothing spectacular, but to find two of the same variety in one roll, especially a circ roll is pretty scarce in its own right. I also didn't have any of that variety until yesterday. So overall, a pretty good streak of luck there.

Ed made a good point also. The die you found is indeed the doubled eye. There are quite a few still being found, but the variety is very collectible.
