Nice looking 10 reis from Madiera (Portuguese islands off Africa).
Is that image taken from a flat bed scanner or a digital camera?

Robert
It appears to me that a Flat bed scanner was used on the coin.

Yup, looks like a scan, and a nice coin.
Scans are very deceptively difficult to do of circ copper, which I am sure is why Robert asks.
BTW, to answer the original question in the thread, I have some coins of Robert's that I have had for over a month that I need to shoot pics of for the forum. Tbird, if you're around, stay tuned. I will try to get to them before the week is out.

Oh my! Guern(e)sey! One of my favorites. Nice coin!
Low mintages (usually), British format (mostly the same size as farthings/ halfpennies/ pennies) and all copper issues until after WW2. Plus there are some varieties (recut letters and the like).
Have you seen this link? I think I posted it in another thread.

That large symbol in the middle of the left-hand image is called a "tougra". It's sort of a royal seal/emblem.
I don't have a digital camera, and whenever I try to scan a copper coin it invariably turns out dark and unidentifiable.
Please keep posting! You have some great coins!
