This looks to be the 1989P 1DO-001. Looks to be the remnants of the knotch on the one of the date. I think maybe LDS. Any ideas.

My gut feeling says it's not #001....but it could be a DDO. The key on these things is notching on the R of TRUST. If the diagonal to the bottom right of the letter has separation, it's probably listable. I just don't see the thickness for die #1.

I have a similar 89-P that was sitting in the ? pile.
It looks like some sep lines but they seem very weak.
The mark on the lower S is a bag mark.
It has criss cross polishing lines in the neck area.
Is it a DDO or nothing?

Gentlemen, frankly, I have given up on the '89's, because nearly everyone I have had in hand, is so "trashed", that it is nearly impossible to determine. I just toss 'em out, and go for the next.

Ed - No question about it yours is a doubled die.
I still have some question about whether Steve's is.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would extend on the same year and month. I found this one yesterday. Although narrow, the length was outstanding. I emailed Bill S. and he hadn't found one of these yet.

Re the 1989, would that be class 6, distended doubling? I can't see the difference in thickness, and didn't notice any notches.
Thanks.
