the first image looked promising. Then I clicked on the image and noticed the two marks in question fall right into the die scratches under the mint mark. So that makes me question it.

Coop, are you referring to thefield area from the base of the MMgoing 45 degrees, or SE? I thought that might be leftovers from a bad position, but it could be bad craftmanship on the employees part, with a grinder.

Dick: They don't use grinders that small. It looks like an over cover from a die clash to me.
Boy they would really distroy dies with a grinder. LOL Micro Photography even makes a hair look like a nail under the scope.

Coop, I wonder if Chuck would get mad if I posted my new find, here? It is a 1965 Canadian cent, (copper), variety 4. My first find.
Photo on the way....

I wouldn't get mad if you posted it, but you should create a new topic for it.
Posting something unrelated to a thread is known as 'hijacking' the thread. This thread is about a possible 1979D RPM. If your coin isn't a possible 1979D RPM or similar item, it really doesn't belong here. It belongs in its own thread.

Thanks. It is where it belongs.
I have "done some hijacking" in the past. I'll try to avoid it in the future. One can't be a "newbie" all ones life!

It makes searching for a certain post a lot easier to find. If you did a search of highjacking, then this thread woudl come up. If the title of the thread is 1979-D you might not check there as it concerns what appears later on as a different subject.
