Here's an interesting variety sent to me by a CC member in Canada:
The "harp" is a set of parallel die lines below the "1":
And here's a diagram from Pierre Charest's book:

Kurt, thanks for reminding me! I knew there was another one, beside the '65! Now I'm going to check those. I'm no musician, but I might get lucky. Nope!

Neat,
I wonder if the Harp is the same die after some polishing?

Ed, I would say no, because the configutation is too deliberate.

The illustration of the three images, look like a re-created one. Note the die marks on the devices. They are exactly in the same position. So I'm guessing this is a mock up from the normal image? They probably exist, but I would need to see one of the hark and guitar to see if they were from the same dies. It would make sense that the die field would flatten with more use. So I would say this assumption that they were from the same die would be a presumption without the real images of the two anomolies.

Coop, right--those are diagrams, I suspect because these lines are so difficult to photograph. I only have this one coin, but if I find the "guitar" variety I'll post for a comparison.

Yes, they both are in the2005 Charltin's book, and no doubt in the 2008 CDROM, s well. The way they are portraid in the book indicated definite angled terminations, (but squared ends), on the harp, and straight even length lines on the guitar. The coin sjhown, does not indicate any repair,(polishing) in the field, so I din't think it wolkd be wear, not to mention the location. It is very protected in that area.
