I just found this 1955D and I was sure it was the 1mm-002 when I found what I thought was one of the markers, then I looked at the location of the D and it looks closer to the 004 location? The coin is not in the best shape so trying to find any markers is difficult.
Overlay matches but harder to see because of the color glare. But a grid tells the truth.
Not only is yours circulated, but it a VLDS. The heavy die flow distorts the RPM. But location a match. Nice find. You can see the metal flow of between the 9 and the inside edge of the 5 that has the same die flow line, but gets stronger with age.
I know how can I tell it is a VLDS? The edges to the North of the devices is were you can tell. I refer to it as snow drifting. (I'm sure no one else uses this term) But as the die wears the field and the device no longer has the division that they did when the die was newer. They kind of snowdrift together or flow together. _________________ Richard S. Cooper
