Coop, speaking of your images, I'll bet Kurt would enjoy seeing them He is quite adept with PS, and altho he doesn't do many overlays, he does make some very nice photos.

Coop--thanks for your advice. That was taken in my "early days" of coin photography, so here's a reshoot and truncation of extraneous details. I actually think the horizontal alignment of the crack brings out this feature (click for full-size):
Dick, I suppose it helps to be a macro photographer (and have good equipment). My weakness is artificial lighting, since I normally only do natural-light photos. That said, my single-point halogen source does reasonably well, and the Nikkor 60mm macro lens captures every detail (good and bad).

Dick,
I've taken a new, full resolution obverse of the '49 "A to denticles". This happens to be an XF-45 I bought for all of 50 cents! Guess I enjoy revisiting that purchase,
