It is a LDS coin maybe the devices lost the other notching if there were on the outside edge of the coin. that happens a lot. Did you check the EPU. I have found coins that still have that part doubled, but the outer devices lost there detail. I hate it when that happens.

I'll post a 68-D that has a similar mystery notch on the S but nothing else.

Edd it looks like a gouge on your coin or a part broken off the die. Probably all coins after that have that mark or it may have gotten worse with more coins struck.

I think it is just a random hit or something that makes it seem like a notch. Of course that is just my opinion, but even if it were a result of a hubbing miscue, it would be too minor to even list, and I think all of the clubs would agree on that. Remember one of the rules we go by for listing doubled dies, and that is if it requires extreme magnification to see it, it is probably not worth getting too excited about.
