While I still have not a clue to what caused these lines, I am happy that John Knabe of Coppercoins was recognized for finding this peculiar die in COIN WORLD (April 7th editing)
I would also like to congratulate John on his discovery of an obverse 1992 Lincoln cent doubled die
This is now listed in John Wexler's files as 1992, 1c, WDDO-002. I will send it off to Bob to see if he wants to list it.

Another one for the "coin variety detectives"!
I noticed the "Y" in liberty, might be doubled, then saw the "nose". Looks like there might be something there.
