Here is another very strong trail die for the books. Found by Stacia Maderski, it is a 1998P Lincoln cent with strong reverse trails.
Notice the distortion on the top of the letters of EPU and the strong trails with an offset direction of 330 degrees.
Unusual is this trail from the top of the left urn crossing over the column and into the field; notice how the edge of the column is pushed outward as the trail enters the field. A similar affect can be seen in wavy steps as the extension from the columns passes through the stairs, bending them in the direction of the trail.
Even the statue of Lincoln is not spared, distorting the shape into an appearance of a deep sea diver.
This is a very nice find Stacia and congratulations. It is now in my files as 1998P-1DER-036T.
