I hope all of my new friends are doing well Smile I know this site is mainly for copper related finds, but I came across this today from a lot of V nicks I bought last week on the net and this coin was in the lot.I found it quite interesting and am not sure what is going on here. Confused Looks like a lam with a severe cracked die.DC runs from mrim to rim, ending just to the left of the 1 in date.Is this correct?Any comment much appreciated.

Right on the star, lamenation (SP?)

Value: With it being heavily circulated it might be considered a problem coin. All the V Nickels look that way. (Well the circulated ones.) Wish more collectors saved them back then. But a nickel was like a dollar or two, back then. The 1883 no Cents in BU are fairly easy to get. Beings that they were a new design, a lot of them were saved. The rest is hit and manly miss as far as being circulated. If upi found an error collector that collected them, he might be interested.

Keeper: I would use it as a filler. Hard to find people that collect them now days. Nickels seem to be a dud to collectors.

It is like this 1913-S Lincoln cent.

Not to sure if it is a strike thru or lamination.
