It sure is nice. You don't see too many unc Irish coins of that era. There's quite a price jump from XF ($3) to UNC ($20).
Also the mintages of pre-decimal Irish coins are low. Compare the mintage of that Irish penny (about 5 million) to a 1946-S US cent (198 million). The 1946 Irish penny has about the same mintage as a 1931-D US cent, which is more than double the price of the Irish penny in unc.
The Irish penny is the size of a half dollar, roughly. And the words are writtin in the Irish language.
Thanks! I thought it was a nice coin for $3. I would say MSRB. This particular coin shop is like a cluttered attic, and I come across cool stuff all the time. I also picked up a Lincoln 1970-S SD the same day.
