I found this while checking the coins carol sent. It is not one of hers. it is a local coin, one of two. The other is juat another quarter.
Tha area of interest is the very small petal, or bud, leaf, or ? The long arrow indicates the place. The other two indicate the one that Carol is showing. This is directly below the head, and beak. Opinons?

Looks to me as a die break which happen a lot on the single squeeze quarters/nickels. I've seen them ofter per series.
