Promise of what? The 2001-2004 Cents had the wider devices on the obverse. When I find one of them, I always recheck the date, but that always tells when the devices look larger than normal. Keep looking/clicking. Once you get down what things aren't something to keep, then you will start finding stuff that is worth keeping. Don't view it as being shot down, rather just another lesson learned.

Just brush myself of and get back on! I thought for sure that line on the bottom of the 2 was promising. If I don't ask I don't know...one of these days I'll go away.

Teryble - if you are posting asking about possible doubled dies, please post them in the die varieties section - keeps things clearer.

Die varieties are doubled dies, repunched mintmarks, repunched dates, over mintmarks, over dates.

Errors are clashes, brockages, broadstruck coins, off-center coins, partial collar strikes, wrong planchet strikes - the striking screw-ups...not doubled dies.

thx

Sorry about that, guess because it says error questions. Seems like all I ask are questions. Maybe someday in the future I will be the one answering instead of asking. It seems that they end up in the right forum anyways......Unfortunately. I was just telling husband that some of the MD Doubling seem to be more impressive than some DD, and there seem to be alot of different types. There should be a group/market out there that would find them worth colllecting......
Maybe that's my thinking because that's all I seem to find. To me some DD examples seem to be nothing I can distinguish, to the extreme without a doubt. If you could/would post an example of the least noticable, very eluding (to me anyways) notched serif. Maybe a step up from that? Thanks, T
