Nice shot! This gentleman didn't steal your "lost thread", I'm sure.

Carol,
Is there any way you can take a pic that is zoomed in a bit on the date and mintmark? It is possible that this may not be the Large mintmark, but I must be able to see the serifs better to make sure....

Carol, for me to see, and make any kind of response, you need to get more light on the MM, but NOT a glare, and get the best focus you can. The size is fine, but lacks clarity. Hope this helps.

This is a much better picture, and because of it, I will have to change my opinion of it. With this picture, it looks like the small mintmark, not the large. I am sorry about that Carol. Sometimes the clarity of the picture can make all the difference in the world.

Carol: When you focus on your coins with a microscope, it works better for the image to focus on the field and not the tops of the devices. This way the focus of the image looks better. But you getting there. The rainbow tone wasn't there on earlier images. Did you change something or it is really there?

well i wish i had a scope.I am using a bunch of different lenses i have commando-ed from loops and binoculars.it is kind of hit and miss.I am getting very frustrated about it actually. My birthday is coming up in august and i have been dropping hints all over the place.Anyway,I do not know why the colors ended up that way but the coin itself does have some red and odd toning to it.

Hmm...I posted to the original thread on this topic and said this was a small mintmark, but I too cannot find the original thread. That's odd.
