Location looks correct, but I don't see a RPM in your images that would match that die number. I see you took the image at 12:00 in the correct position, but try putting 3:00 on the coin at the 12:00 location to see if there is something there I couldn't see on your images. Try 3:00 & 9:00 to see if the difference in light helps. You can rotate the coin back to the correct position, just use a different angle of light rotating the coin.

Sorry, It looks normal to me. The marks inside of the loops of the S may be distracting, but those are just punch damage. If you look at several of the mint marks from that year, they almost all look that way. Dead give away for a bud punch being used. If you would check other denominations, you would see the same marks on them as well?
Why? **SAME PUNCH****

I've got a bunch of split lower serif RPMs. The problem is that the RPM is so minor it is not listable. I still save them as May someday they will be listable and if I got rid of them I would probably kick my self for getting rid of them. Other attributers may list them and I might find a match there. But at any rate, I found them and I'm hanging on to them till I find out which way it turns out. I figure, if I can spot a minor one, that means I'm not missing the major ones. Wink Wink Wink Wink
