The serif is split on the SW. There is a extra MM line to the SE of the primary, it may not be but it appears to be. Any Ideas?

Looks like part of the plating movement when the coin was struck. The direction matches the lower part and the excess plating in the center of the up right. That's what I see.

David, I have to go along with Coop. The presentation of this is common in the Zn/Cu plating junk.
