Didn't I see some posts similar to my coin? What would this be called. There is also markings between Rim & bust, (I think). Do you guys see anything? Maybe a DDO? Rolling Eyes
Thanks, Tery

Tery.
I have run into several of these coins, and I believe there is another post about this particular one. These are die gouges, and pretty weird ones at that. I for one do not know what caused them, but they are interesting anyway.

Tery,

Welcome to the club!
I think it's the third or fourth time we have seen this exact die.
It looks like a D over V variety but it's gouges or damage on the die.

Here's mine, same die? Wink

Pretty funny how most of us have kept this particular coin. It's not worth anything, but the uniqueness of it makes it worth holding on to.

There are some coins I have come across some that are totally gross under a microscope. I throw them away. My luck when I do find a wide AM or something special, it will be in that condition. I definetly will see coins in a different light now & understand why your mother always told you not to put money in your mouth.......Yuck

Teri, those might be the ones I find, and because they are so ugly, or "gross" as you say, instead of throwing them away, I put them back in circulation. LOL

Hey Dick,

I don't even want to touch them...yuck, kinda like Palmetto Bugs & I. Lived here all my life & I see one I'm a screamin' & a running! But snakes, rats, spider, the things that can really hurt you, no problem. It's all in the mind, yuck, yuck and yuck again.
Now I think I'll just have them drop the change in my wallet from now on. If I come across some, I'll know you put them out there just for me Embarassed Laughing

Deal! I'll show it if I find a way to show them all at the same time, (and still be able to see what they are). I'm referring to my recent receipt of Can cents, 1965-2008, with a few missing dates. All are PL, in mint wrappers. Real beauties!
