I'm surprised that you don't see that machine doubling on the date. That happened a lot that year as well as 1968. Flat, shelf like machine doubling.

I don't see anything on the date, but the MM does show a bit on the north end.

Re-read the post. I said I'm surprised you DON'T see machine doubling on the date. It is so common on that year that when it is mentioned that thought always pops into our heads. But the North mark on the mint mark is machine doubling. Shelf like and flat. Usually the same on the date, just not on your coin. Die movement can happen very minor/very major. You might check the reverse to see if you see any machine doubling there also.

Gotcha coop. I misunderstood your first post. Thought it might be machine doubling, but never hurts to double check with others. Did check the reverse and nothing there either. Oh well, the search continues.
