Looks like die movement to me. If you check the upper edges of the date, you might see this as well. The reason I say die movment the metal is pushed and not repunched. Always nice to know why. _________________ Richard S. Cooper

Looks to me like it could be a genuine repunched mintmark with a hit on the top. I'd have to see the lower serif lit the opposite way to tell much from it. _________________ C. D. Daughtrey
