I received an email from PCGS the other day that has a survey question asking collectors: that when grading copper, PCGS should identify the percentage of red on the holder. You dont have to sign in to answer the survey. I voted no. I think its a bad idea since some coins will probably tone somewhat over time. I cant find the survey question on their website though. Maybe someone knows how to find it. If you get their emails you will see it.
What does everyone else think?
I think their time could be better spent and more profitable, if they attributed coins rather than wasting time guessing on the percentage of red.
Most TPGs have a hard enough time getting RED-RB-BN right so who cares if they say it's XX% and like you said the coins will change and they do not put dates on slabs.
Some PCI coins are done that way with percents.
LOL I'd tell them to put grading dates on instead.
That matters more since grading standards change over time. _________________ Ed
