Mike, I don't see anything out of the ordinary, but it more than likely is MD, mechanical Doubling. No RPM's possible after '89.

Hi Mike - I see what you are talking about, however, since it is impossible to have a RPM after 1989, we can rule that out.
More than likely, it is a "hit" on the mint mark that has caused the lower serif to appear as split. In other words, post mint damage.
