It does seem to have a similar rev marker as the listed one but I'm not sure it's the same or not.
Die polishing might cause something similar but those ones look less sharp. (polishing can change the inside corner into a mushy ramp that looks doubled.
I think they are correct that these are from master die doubling.
There is something similar on 1999-D cents. I found a bunch of them with different markers from different dies with similar doubling. In the end I took the whole bunch and put them away in the ???? question pile. I'm thinking that 98-d is something similar.

You are correct Ed in that this anomaly is seen on both 98D and 99D cents. I started finding them a couple of years ago and when I added them to the site, I did put the comment that I believe it may be master die doubling. I have found many more 1998D examples rather than 99D examples. I still don't know if it's master die or not, but I figured I would keep it on the site for now. _________________ Bob Piazza
