ED, the link you posted, just goes to prove what I have said for many years: If you want to know what is going on on this country, read the foreign news! listen to the foreign brodcast, and TV. they have nothing to gain, or lose, by telling it like it is!

Well whats up with what I've been hearing lately about the new money that is supposed to be coming out. I think they will be called AMERO.

I still believe there should be an attempt to create a cent that is identical to the original 1909 obverse design and texture. That would be too much to ask. They redesigned Monticello on the nickel in 2008 to more closely match the original design. Why cant the do it with the cent, at least in a collectible format.

I suspect that makes news in Canada primarily because they are a large copper and nickel source...I'm not sure about zinc though. I wonder how many actual cents minted that represents?

Agreed! I would like to see a bronze collector cent with the same relief and detail as the 1909--not a flattened interpretation of Victor Brenner's design.
