Regarding cent composition: I think the aluminum steel idea is a farce, and keeping them in zinc will forever shorten their life expectancy. I would probably recommend aluminum mixed with something to make it copper colored. Light, cheap, and soft enough to strike without destroying the dies.

Chuck,, during WWII, we had an aluminum alloy, that was very hard, and strong. It was called "Dural", or duraluminium. Used mainly for strength, and light weight, in aircraft. Some composition of that alloy, would stand up better than aluminum alone, and no doubt longer than the zinc cents we are stuck with today. I'm sure you aere aware of what I refer to, having been in the USAF.

Thats a good idea Chuck, why not just make them out of aluminum, it might have an effect on the value of the 1974 aluminum trial strikes
