I very unfamiliar with these, this looks close so I thought I would ask if it was one prior to throwing it in the reject pile.

It does look like the one on variety vista that was de-bunked. It is my understanding that a MS 63 or better would have to be found to verify if they exist. Die polishing has probably taken its effect on the G. Normally I would have said yes, but I have a few that the G looks exactly like yours. Keep looking.

Rhubarb, thank you for replying and for the explanation. After 20 views and not a single explanation I sort of got the drift it was nothing. Again... thank you for explaining why it is nothing, I can understand that experienced members get tired of the same old questions.

SANDRA, WE LEARN BY ASKING QUESTIONS.Some of us have to have several answers to understand what is being said. Others seem to get it on the first "go around". I am NOT of the latter. I heaer something, and before ot gets out the other ear, I have lost it, but when I "see" something, it usually sticks. Not always. You keep asking, and someone will answer.

Thanks Ed and Dick, I was just making an observation I noticed if someone posts a "wanna be" you will often see several views but no response. At least for the most part not right away. If I post a pic of something I'm wondering about and there are 5 or more views and no reply I sort of "in my own mind" come to the realization that it's nothing. Typically if you post "a good find" you will get a quicker response...human nature tells us if there is nothing to talk about (interest) then pass it by. Like I said just an observation.

Sandra....Something for you to consider about people viewing your threads. I believe even non members are counted when they view a thread. (Chuck may have to verify this). If that is the case, we are visited by hundreds of folks every day. They don't need to be a member to read the threads, but do have to be a member to reply. That may be the reason for the numbers of views you have versus the number of replies. Of course...the other reason could be that the members who read your thread just don't have an opinion on that particular thread.
So...because you don't receive a reply straight away....do not think your coin may be worthless and toss it. Maybe the person or persons who do have an opinion don't get on the forum as often.

I agree. As one who is not very knowledgeable about cent errors and varieties, particularly after 1982, I will post more in the Series Specific section and World Coin section to try and keep those threads active. But I do read all the error and variety postings and will respond only if I have anything worthwhile to contribute. So dont think I and others are not interested Sandra, I just dont want to say anything that is not helpful and hide the good info in the midst of my ramblings.

Additionally, if I post, I will come back and look at it again and change a word here or there, add or delete a sentence; then look at it again, and change something else. So I may add two or three views to it before I am finished. Maybe others do that.

Sandra, I too, will confirm that. I view several forums, and even when I am a member, but not logged in, the posts can be read, but I can't reply It pays to be a member! Try this: Go to a French forum, and read the threads. I have to use lingoworld, (or maybe worldlingo), to read them! dual purpose, learn about coins, while learning French.

I couildmn't "edit", so an extra. Sandra, note the bottom of tyhe page. You will see the number of users on line, gives a number. Right now there are two: one registered, and one hidden. the "hidden" one is not logged in, or not a member, but is reading the posts in the various threads. many times one is "reading the mail", and other times, are using the data on site for compaeison. (This last may be in error, because I'm not sure one can do research, if not a member). I hope this clears up the clouds! There isd one other condition, which I am demonstrating: I am on line, (on the sirte, but I am not being shown, other than as one of two hidden). That has changed as I type. Only one hidden, none, otherwise.

Geez sure got a reply or 2 this time Really you guys I'm not that insecure or needy Thank you for all those explanations however I was only stating what I noticed. I am a big offender of not answering posts because as such a novice collector I often don't feel I have too much to contribute till I learn more (again ...not a needy statement ) Its not only my posts that get left unanswered and I noticed on others that don't get answered promptly...some times not at all, are ones that don't turn out to be an RPM, Doubled Die etc. If someone posts a true DD or RPM usually there is a prompt answer and typically more than one. I am not trying to slam anyone and was not offended at all just making an observation, being in health care does that to me I guess. This a great forum and overall probaly has more answered posts than others I've visited. It's just always been a pretty sure way for me to determine if I have a winner or just a Cent.

Sandra, Without asking lot's of questions it's hard to learn. So keep asking, nothing is a bad question.

Even trying to answer is good for learning, give a thought and if someone says it's "more like yada yada yada" then everyone learned. There's no other way to learn and it's free.

With this one you weren't sure but nobody else that looked was sure either so your question was a good one.
