I found one in a roll last week and it is in au shape. Don't know how to post photos of it here yet.
I'm not sure what to do with it. I don't think I want it encased in plastic. Eventually I guess I might sell it. It's in a flip right now. I inverted the flip so that the only thing that touches it is the mylar. ANY AND ALL ADVICE ABOUT GETTING IT CERTIFIED OR IF IT IS WORTH IT , IS APPRIATED. Thanks
zeke

Welcome Zeke!
Try posting a pic of the AM and FG to verify it is a wide AM. There are close AM cents with a small gap, to be a wide AM it must be the real wide gap and must have the FG in the correct position closer to the building.
If it's is a real 1999 wide AM it's probably worth slabbing it.
(to post it save your pic to photobucket then copy the 3rd link below the pic into your post)

Thats a keeper. I have a '98 Wide AM that I bought slabbed by PCGS. They will attribute the coin on the holder. The '99 is the more scarce date. Its worth slabbing. Is it full red? I see three marks to the right of the portrait and two left. Are those hits or something else?
This is post #800. Another round for everyone.

Zeke,
Great find!
It's the real deal. I also think if it looks as nice as it does in the pics then it's going to grade better than AU, it should grade in the MS grades.
You asked about getting it graded.
You could have a dealer submit it to PCGS but if you do be sure they know how to get it submitted right so they list the wide AM. (I think that means they must submit as a mint error)
Or join their club and use that, I think it requires extra certificates or money since you're using mint error service.
You can send it to ANACs yourself. Read their form for the prices. I think if you send only one coin you can't get the best deal, if sent alone it would be $19 for 15 day grading plus $5 for verification (say 'wide AM" or "proof reverse hub" on the form) plus include the $5 verification plus $19 for return postage. It's not a bargain to send just one coin.
I'd wait until I had atleast 5 coins, then you pay $12 each plus the $5 for verification for this one plus $19 for return postage. That way you get lower price plus all 5 go for the same postage. Call them, I bet they have a sale near the end of the year so you might get it done for less.
Grading is not cheap but for that coin I think it's worth it.

Zeke, Ed gives you good advice, and I appreciate that.
However, I would suggest cghecking around a bit, before commiting. The reason I say this, is that I got badly burned about three years ago by ANACS! It cost me $30.00 to get a quarter slabbed, and they wanted to charge me an additional $8.00 for 5-day turn-around. I said the #$12.00 that they charged for Poastge, and handling was enough. They kept my coin from the 17th of march, 2005, to 6th of June. Need I say more? I am the "PROUD" owner of a MS-65 quarter, with a $30.00 slab, on it!!! I like my coins the same way as my eggs: raw, scrambled, or sunnyside up!

Thanks for the advice. Did I mention that I just found a 2000 wide AM. How's that for stepping in it? Man, I stink. Would you like to see it? It's not in as good condit. as the 99'.

Another option for submitting coins is to go thru a dealer. You save the membership fees and all that but you are captive to their schedule of submitting the coins.
