Hi, I just joined the forum a few days ago. Copper coins are my main interest area, especially looking for rpm's and double dies. I have a few CONECA listings, which I will share if anyone is interested, but I do not know how to take pictures and get them on the computer yet. I will be checking in here often. Thanks.

Welcome aboard! There's a photography help section to help fine-tune your digital photography skills. Several regulars here are quite good.

We'd like to hear what varieties you have. Anything out of the ordinary?

Again, welcome!

Tease: Welcome aboard. Sharing images is a lot of fun. Instead of trying to describe a RPM/doubled die it is easiest to show an image. Lets say a 1925-S RPM. Lets say the RPM is South. If you know the number you can state that and others can look it up on the site or another publication. But images tell all.

So if you had an unlisted one, well an image might help a fellow collector to identify it if it is listed. But posting an image would be necessary. You can put the http://......... on the forum and we can click and find it. Of course you need an image, then post it to a web space, then put the address in your post. If you have problems in any phase feel free to ask questions. Someone will help you. So with that being said, enjoy the site. Be sure to check out the Search for RPMs/DDs. Look at the Departments section on Lincoln Cents located on the upper bar of the HOME page. Feel free to roam and if you find a page empty, remember this is a work in progress. Enjoy the site.

Thanks, Robert and Chuck. Congrats on a great site, Chuck, this is what I have wanted to see for a long time. Well, as far as anything out of the ordinary, probably not. I just got 1950s 1c rpm-16 east, my 1947d 1c ddr will be the first double die in the new CONECA files for the date and mm, 1951d/d/d 1c rpm-35, 1953d 1c rpm-25. 1960d 1c small rpm-113, my 1950d 1c ddo-1 is the only double die for the date and mm, a real strong ddr is 1943d ddr-6, and several others. I don't have them with me, so can't remember most of them. I search uncirc wheat rolls mostly, but am going to start on the bags I have of d mint 1c since 1997.

That brings me to a question, I note that since the 1995d 1c ddo's, all the reported double dies have been p mint coins, including the recent finds in 2001-2004 by Billy Crawford, all involving TY of LIBERTY it seems. Do you guys know of any reason why there would not be any double dies with d mintmark in 1997-1999 1c?

Thanks again for the welcome.

Bill

There wouldn't be a reason in particular why there wouldn't be any doubled dies in recent D mint cents...they are just far fewer and farther between. I know they have to exist out there, somewhere.

Perhaps you might also want to consider the possibility of submitting some of the coins you have for attribution and addition to this system as well. Drop me a note some time.

varitease I would like to welcome you as well. Searching rolls with few or no known varieties can be exciting as well. The thrill of being the first to find something.

pennyhound- I have dictionary.com on my favorites list and I wish I had a penny for every time I went there in the middle of a post. Joe

Spell check would be impossible to tie into this forum. It would take a database of tens of thousands of words and an algorithm I'd spend months writing to take care of it.

Best to just use a dictionary if you're bothered by misspellings.

I certainly wouldn't worry about a few misspelled words. We generally get the idea pretty quick here. I too, like everyone else here would like to welcome you to the coppercoins forum. I hope we can educate, or get educated. This well rounded group of members here can definitely answer just about any questions you may have. Once again, welcome!

I'll add another welcome varitease! You won't find a better site or group of folks to help in countless ways when it comes to copper coins and all the varieties.
