An attractive copper coin of Norway, traded from a friend. I'm a big fan of 19th C. copper coins for the style and signs of handwork in die-making; this one is no exception. Very Happy

shot using a Nikon D70S with the Nikkor 60mm macro at f25.

This coin arrived in a 2x2, which initially hid its many attributes--yet another reason I'm disinclined towards slabbing. Laughing
Great details, color and very clean, square rims!

Kurt, I agree! 'Tis a thing of beauty, and the die-makers of the "old age", were very great craftsmen. Their work should makle the modern-day die makers feel very ashamed of what they are producing. There is NO creativity, what so ever!.

Agreed--that lion sure has the arms for swinging that axe! Laughing
Imagine a group of burly guys coming at you with those things? Shocked A different age.

Yeah, just look at most Euro coins--what a joke compared to previous series. Or, a few US state quarters come to mind... Laughing

Kurt, again, I agree. I have a date/roll collection of the quarteras, and some of them are a JOKE! I thought there was a bit of competition for designs on coins. I might compete, next time! I sure couldn't do any worse than some of them.
I found a 12-P, `12-D, and a 12_S, along with a 1909 VDB, and two IHC, '04, and '07, in ONE roll!! The 12-S will run VF-XF.

Dick, wow! Shocked That 12-S is a low mintage coin--very nice finds overall! I think the 12-S alone would more than cover that roll costs...post a pic sometime Very Happy

Kurt, I'll post all of these coins, AFTER I get my other computer back on line! I can't get anything to wiork there, for some reason. I'll put another unit on,in the meantime. the seller I am geetting these coins from, is one of the best on ebay! Now I have to get some more whitman folders, because I can fill them all but the 09-S VDB, and the 14-D. Maybe the 22-D. I imagine I can fill 90%, right now. Next trip to "my coin shop", I'll get some more. Cheers, my friend!
