Coop, or ED, anyone, Did they "out-line" the back of the ear this year, like the whole profile was done several yeas ago?
I have one, and it is "bugging-me" dor some reason. I hadn't noticed it before. It is a "close-AM". Thanks,.
I'll post it if needed.

Dick,

Is this what you meant about outlined profiles?
If it is I've only seen it on wheat cents.

On a 1999 it might be in the plating or MD?
There's a lot of clashes near the ear for 1999.

Need a pic to say.

Ed, Here is a picture, but I couldn't get enough of the "outline" to show it. It is NOT flat, as in MD. It does appear to be almost an impact pre-strike, but I can't show it as it is viewed. This is not the same place as was used, such as in the examples posted. The area is behind the whole ear, from top, down to the lobe, but not forard toward the nose in either case.

Take the mid-section of the ear, and note a light mark, about as long as the "socket would be" high. This is the only part I can see. I will install PhotoShop, and see if I can make it easier to see. I'm sure it isn't a MD, but by the same token, I can't say it isn't, because of the surface of the "line"

This shot actually shows more than I expected. What do you think?

Not sure what it is but I think it's not a doubled die.

Teri, that is what I wanted to show, but couldn't. It is identical, so If one is a doubled die, then bothare! By the same token.....
