Within the next two months I intend on unveiling a new home page for coppercoins. The one in current use has been growing stagnant for over a year now, and it's time for change. The home page of the site is currently static except for number changes when photos or die information is added to the site. Those very small changes are not enough to hang onto visitors to the front page. I want to change that in at least the following ways:
a. News articles from myself, some of the big hitters in the industry, and from many of the people right here in the forum will grace the front page of the site - all about copper and what's going on in the copper coin industry...education, discoveries, stories - it should be pretty good. Expect to be able to search a permanent archive of all old news stories.
b. I will be bringing back the "spotlight coin," something that many visitors here, save a few who have been around this site for years, don't know about. Each time a special die variety or special date/grade coin graces my desk, I will spotlight it for you so you can see a bit of what I think and how I think. What the coin looks like, whether I think it's valuable, where I think the value will go, markers to identify like-coins, etc...all sorts of information just on that one coin. Expect the spotlight coin to change about once every three to four weeks, then expect to be able to peruse an archive of past spotlight coins once the program gets on the road.
c. Periodic book reviews are a possibility, but the details are sketchy.
d. Once the store is in operation I plan to run specials on the home page...a draw into the store, but a good deal for those who take advantage.
e. The possibility of having classified ads from members of the site is also a possibility, and I could show a couple of them on the home page as a draw into the classified ad section. Details on this entire program are still a bit sketchy.
So...that's about it in a nutshell...any suggestions?? Anything to add to this list??

Are you talking about the "flag" icon on the forum main page (to the left) that alerts you of new posts in a forum? I was thinking about changing that. I'll come up with something. Expect the "rank" symbols to change as well...to something a little smaller.

I changed the image to the left - color only, I wasn't feeling creative enough to think of a new picture altogether. I hope it helps.

If you're talking about the "new post" icon, you forgot to modify the one at the bottom of the Forum's main page.

I know, I have quite a number of small graphics to change on this program, but time is of the essence right now. When I get a better break, I'm going to go through the whole collection of graphic icons and buttons and change them.
