Hope Everyone is well and had a great Thanksgiving!

So we had just finished dinner and I needed to relax for a few after chasing the kids around all day. Now, my father is not a collector, just a spare change jar(s) guy. Knowing this I ask if I can take a look through the jar of Lincolns. A large old olive jar about 3/4's full. This will keep me busy for a little while, I told myself. I would say a majority of the coins were memorials, so I'm looking and picking out the dates like 1983s, 1984s, 1972s and the 1992s and 3s.
Well, I am about 2/3s the way through and I pick up a 1972. I start looking at the date and I could not believe my eyes and nearly fell out of my chair (This is the first true DDO that I have ever found), I can see doubling. I then moved the loupe over to LIBERTY, and low and behold the LIB is doubled. Then I move to the IGWT. Everything is doubled!!!! I finally actually found one in my Dad's change no less! Very Happy Very Happy Surprised
Sorry for the long story, but I could not contain my excitement since no one in my family collects and my wife thinks I'm a 'coin dork', I knew you all would understand. Now on to the pics....

No, I didn't find anything else... Crying or Very sad

WooHoo, way to go! I'm still looking forward to the moment I find a really good DDO!

Nice find...I tried to match to a die for '72, but I'm not good at ID'ing these. Laughing

Jon,

Nice find!

I think it's either die-3 or die-8.

I'm thinking it's die-8 because I think I see the little spike on the first T of trust.

Those 2 dies are very similar, to verify which it is look for markers on the site but you might start with:

Die-8 has little spikes going to the rim from one or both of the tops of Ts of trust.

Die-3 has a little spike going up from the top of E of liberty.

Congratulations on a great find. I have never had much luck with memorials other than minor varieties. Your post now gives me the inspiration to go check a bowl of memorials I have been staring at for months.
