Wow - what nice doubling on this DDO. I didn't realize how strong the doubling was till I saw the coin in hand.

Really nice find, John. I've been looking for one of those for years and still haven't found my first one.

Looks to me like this is a 41 Die 5 not 6, DDO.
CONECA 5-O-IV ... (FS 1c-018.3) ... LCDDO-005
Class IV, Offset Hub Doubling, northeast. Strong doubling on TY of Liberty, 19 in the date and the ear.
Die Marker: Die crack across the center of the base of the bust.
Not enough pressures was used in the hubbing press on the initial hubbing of this working die as only the outline of the design elements close to the center can be seen.
pg. 116, The Authoritive Reference on Lincoln Cents by Wexler & Flynn
Nice find.
LOL ... just looked on here and it is listed: 1941P 1DO-006, sorry.

Hi Pennyhound...a bit of confusion set in because I didn't get to listing this die until I had hit die #6. There will eventually be quite a number of die varieties listed here that are either not referenced anywhere else or are referenced by different die numbers. In most cases this happens because the references that do list them are either not published or are not clear enough to use for positive die identification, and I cannot let that alone stop me in my endeavor to list all known dies here on this site.
Sorry for the confusion the die number difference caused everyone, but I cannot follow someone else's lead when they don't take the lead. This site exists to give people information they won't get in the same form elsewhere. Some of the information will differ in nature and content from other sources because I do work independently from them.
