Kurt, I can't get any of my units to open for a reply, so this is a continuation of the same thread.
The ones I found yesrterdday are all late dates, and the odds of any overdates are sklim, but they are nice, and I have noticed a few likely varieties in the "grab-bag", so at 16 cents each, I can't go very far afield. The IHC are 1.95 each. I found a 50 ORE, possibly two. Also some that I might have handled, from Hong Kong. Recalling the dates, NOT! I had retired by then! There are at least 50 countries in hand in this batch alone! I was very surprised. Many years ago, before I knew there were such things as 'varieties", I was picking up all the world coins I found, just for the country, and "close dates". I had made a large map of the world, and had 80 countries marked with a coin from that country, and a brief note about it. The idea came from the movie, (Around the World in 80 days, With Mario Moreno, "Cantinflas", the foremost comedian in Mexico. I don't know what happeded to that "picture, nor a 1918 cent with three distinct strikes on the rev. I suspect they were given, or sold to a collector in the group, who , (if he still is alive, living in Constantinople, Turkey). I may do that one again Maybe I can do it with varieties, alone. I'll think about it. One thing for sure, the "materials" are cheap enough to try.
back to the coins at hand, I also noticed that the "1"'s are both low slightly, on all the views, so I didn't think it worthy of a comment. As I sdaid, i can't judge the differences, due to my vision, so I go wioth what is made note of, and try to get a perspective from that.

Dick,
I had that happen last week with several threads.
I wanted to reply to a thread but it would only let me see it, both computers and browsers. It just timed out when I hit reply. I think it's some AOL interaction, maybe others don't have the same issue.

Ed, are you on AOL? If so, it might be possible, but if you have a different ISP, then it indicartes another source. I have run into this on several ocassions, but most of the time when the thread is lenghty, or many times on Chuck's replies. I ususlly can go the the topic, and open from there, but not so today. It couuld be something on the server. Opinions?

Coop, it looks like a late date Zincoln. Was it ont you sent? I have read all but the "ford production line". I want to watch it later. jist checked the mail box, and it has "Memorial diie. I haven't opened it, yet.
As far as "what is it", I didn't consider the "die" aspect, but it would be a correct presentative, if that was the intent. It is a late date "Zincoln".

Dick,
Yes using aol at home.
I have had exactly what you said happen, then go to topic and often it works. BUT on some lately that won't fix it.
One of the stuck ones is this thread, I was going to reply but it only times out no matter what I do.
Try this one, is it stuck for you?

Coop,
I could not figure out that mirrored rev pic. Your 2007 pic looked odd, It seems to have a big gap between motto and rim and it seems the motto size looks different. What are those?
I also had the messages do funny things. I sent one to Bob and I don't think it went through. We must be haunted

I don't what is going on,! It musrt be the weather! Speaking of that, you might keep your umbrella handy, Coop the next 24036 hours could get wet.

Dick, the earlier 50 Ore coins are silver, I believe. The 1911-19 are scarce, and for 1920 there is a variety with the round 0 in 1920, which is worth a premium. Have fun with those, and if you find something interesting please post pics.

Kurt, I am just begining to go thru the coins. mostly checking for errors such adDDO/DDR Largs die cracks, anything beside a normal, well worn coin, from what ever country. The Mwxican, Canadian, and sweden are being set aside, separately, for furure perusal. have fun? You better believe it! The oldest coin so far 1956, from Chile, another 1964 from Hong Kong. The dates so far are modern, so not real likely that I would find a fifty ORE, in silver. I have found so far 1, 2, 5, 10, 50 ORE. Much more to come!

Now... What is Coops coin?
My guess is it's a photo that was photoshopped. In photoshop the image was mirrored, the color changed and rim blotted out.
Was the intent to look like a die??

Ed: It was an image of a Memorial Cent reverse and I was going for the how would a die look like. I spent sometime on darkening the devices and lightening the fields, applying grayscale to make it look steel like. Made the devices uneven in color like a Die would look like. I also removed the outer rim that was on the image to make it look like a die as well. Trying to educate what a die would look like in hand.
