Kurt, I see what youi mean. I have a cinco centavos, from Mexico, that is even mor split! It is a brassy colored coin. I
'll try to locate it, and post a foto. I don't know about the Canadian coinage, but due to the fact that some of their coinage is made in Britan, I would ssay yes.
The coin has the long line, in the vertical position, same as my coin. I wonder if this could indicate a flawed mix, in the planchet metal.

On the 1 anna coins from some years they aren't round. The coins are sort of flower shaped. I have one someplace, I think it's a 1943.
It would be neat to see a clip on one of those, it would look like a bite.
