Yeah--interesting coin! It must be a traditional shape, because a lot of India coin series have it. That must have made for an interesting die/collar combo.

That is interesting. With all the British colonial coins I have seen on my local B&M bid board, one of these has never surfaced. Is it copper/ nickel?

Kurt, you point out the shape is an interesting collar shape. Think of the Hammer die, the possibilities of a small roeational error. it could be messy!

Garry,
It looks like brass but it feels lighter than it should be. Sort of like the surface of a Sac dollar.
Dick,
I'd like to see a die cap or a clip!
My other question is if they ran these through upset mills or not, the upset rim has an uneven look to it.

I neglected to mention what I ewas thinking about, when I mentioned the hammer die. It involved a triangular coin, die, etc.

Did someone say triangular coin?
Dick, a die/collar other than round sounds like a nightmare...if I were responsible for it, I'd probably lose sleep

Bahama's coins also used that edge.

Now you know what the Canadians new dollar looks like!Yes, that is what I was referring to. It takes a while to get used to their "creativity", and small amounts of each, or any coin, and accept it. But, I seem to be doing just that. I am looking forward to all the Olympic creations, for 2010. I already have some coins dated 2010.

The image of the cow on the Canadian triangle reminded me of a gif I have. I'll Put the tag, there for anyone to open. But it is a Wisconsin T-Bar Pole Dancer. (YUP you've been warned. LOL)

Or this image of a cow.
