Yo, befor we get started ... would really like to know if anyone could tell me if this (finish on this coin) is of a re-proceesed or polished finish, looks funny to me ... but then again, it maybe what the seller saids' it is.
pictures were re-moved ... re-processed coin ... grrrr
Really need to know about this finish on the coin tho, if some one would give me a handle on it.
Will do a better work up of this and the FS-019.5 for references when I know more about this finish, on the coin, thanks ahead of time for any responces you can leave me.

Looks like its been reprocessed to me. I bought a few off ebay similiar to that and sent them back. I didn't notice any DD on it unless I missed it. The plating makes imperfections/wear on the coin look even worse. So I hope you didn't pay a lot for it. Maybe I missed something though, just couldn't see anything there. Looks like a LDS coin though. I hope this helps.

I have not bought any of these in awhile and thought the finish was just to good, (not to have been submitted for slabbing befor I got it)
I just wanted to get some opions on it befor I kept it.
Didn't know what to look for as far as it being reproccessed or not. (I know this tho, if it was sent in to the grading company/s, thy will not slab it ... I don't think)
I didn't pay to much if it hasn't been tampered with ... that's the reason for this post ... I got it last evening and will be sending it back ... if what I think is true ... and you are one that feels like I do ... looks tampered with to me.
I have other/s of the 1943 series and none of them look like this one ... you can see from the pictures ... looks frosted at places and polished in others ...
this coin ... date
another coin ... date
Think I should send it back for sure ha?
I'm asking cause I don't know ... just got a funny feeling on this one.
Compairing the two and a third one, no question ... it's going back ... thanks for the input.

One thing to look for on reprocessed cents is that they were circulated and probably have scratches on them from circulation. So the first place to look for those scratches would be on the rims. If they have lines or grooves marked in that area, they are probably reprocessed. Usually they look nice at first glance, but the plating looks rough next to letters/numbers and the area before the rim. Usually a scope or loupe will show this defect. Hope this helps.

Yup, just as you have mentioned ... can see it on the two pictures posted there, the second one, is clearly a much less circulated coin, were as the above coin ... the one in question, clearly shows a circulated rim ... another one of those late night thrills (if only for a short time) that turned into a forest ... lol, seller has agreed to take it back, so another good lesson, learned.
Thanks again ... you saved me a few bucks on that one.

Wel learn from experience. That is why asking questions here is nice as not on the writter benefits, but all other readers of the forum benefit also. Glad to help.

Also, that coin doesnt have a doubled die. Its machine doubling, practically worth nothing.

I find it humorous that when he posted the add again he left the "oops, its really a 1943 S" note on the add. He obviously knew.
I usually buy bulk lots to search for errors. I got so tired of getting junk sold to me on Ebay that I began advertising in a local paper. It has worked out pretty well. The only headache is people who answer the add who have a couple of rolls of wheaties and live 20 miles away. They think the rolls are worth a lot and I would drive that far for them. Usually a disappointing call for them.
I also find it frustrating that Ebay feedback is really not that valuable. This guy has a pretty good rating but based on your experience and my assumption that he now knows the coin is not authentic, I don't know how that can be.

It maybe that alot of these guys (E-Bay seller/s) pray on the unknowing public to unload their junk ... and some will not even leave feedback until thy have feedback from buyer, to leave feedback, thus making a sure bet, thy get good feedback 1st, if you'll check mine, I an now abjecting and saying so in my feedback and saying so, ... but that too ... is a live and learn deal. (they do it cause thy have tried it and some get away with it ... thus thy continue to do it) hay heard that one about "one bad apple" ... same applies here.
Just beware of buying anything, that your not sure of (certified) and maybe as I did ... post on here ... some-one will come to you and give their advise on it, most from what thy have experienced themselves.
E-Bay ... has a place for you to submit complaints ... but doesn't seem to get much out of it, I've left complaint about this ... but then again, if your the only one that has taken this step ... thy only have one compaint to go on. You people get burnt ... don't leave it there and go about your business, take steps ... so it will stop.
Good luck, and happy hunting.

ePAY doesn't give a rat's azimuth about ANYTHING as long as they get their cut. You can prove fake/fraud/counterfeit until the cows come home; they won't do a dietydike thing about it.
10 bonus points if you can accurately translate my fancy fake cussing.

LOL ... I get it ... said the same thing when a coin came back from PCGS and I contacted both the seller and E-Bay, and you know what happened then, as you so elegantly put it, been there done that also, and I concur.
