Hi Coop, Yes, i noticed that there is still some "life"! Maybe we can help put it on "life-support" some way. Then we will still be able to enjoy what we do .
Hope you and any "Lurkers" had a nice Easter Subday.
Dick

I am waiting to see a pop-up msg saying your message cannot be delivered, because the forum is off-line. But so far it is working.
I agree with everyone mostly, that this forum jump started my interests, and seemed so incredible to enable me to talk with the best in the business almost directly.
I apolegize for not posting lately, not that I provided anyone any benefits, rather gathering info for my own good. But I am one whose lack of interaction drove the statistics down I suppose.
I will sign up with LCR, it sounds good. I just hope I can hear from you all and CD as often and easily as before.

A few of the regulars here are on LCR. After you get used the forum, it is great. Just a few problems with setup. Feel free to ask questions there. All are willing to help.

Yep, Coop! It is, and I check it nearly every day. I sure will miss the one place I have called "home", for many years.

with my current endeavors, I am learning w hole lot more about what Mike, Coop, ED, and so many others are doing, or have done, when it comes to atrriburing a coin. It is fascinating, and to date, I have over 1000 1859N0 large cents, and 98% are identified, by die marriage. The ones that are not ID'ed yet, have no markers OBV, or REV. That makes it difficult, but if there are any markers, that seem to have something in common, I'll find them! (With a little help from my friends).
Enjoy it while we have it. One day Chuck will lock the door.
See y'al on LCR.
Dickl

Hi phil!

long time no see.
Yes, it is slowly getting here. I have had temps to 98, once, and 95 and 94. Aflurry of high to mid 80's, & '90's. It happens.
In case you decide to look for something new, try this:
That currently is my "Bible"
I am working die marriages, and the dies involved in the 1859N9 Canadian large cent, and it's varieties. I have a base of 1010 cents to use as a base, for reference.
Cheers, Dick
BTW, I am azbrushape@aol.com

Okay....so I changed servers and this still works...

Just a little more life line for those who haven't yet gathered the strength to sign up over at LCR.

Hi Coop!
I check it every time I check my other email address. It is still working, and Hopefully, it may need to become more active. I would enjoy posting my pgotos, here, now, since I have a means of posting full-face images, that are also easy to check. But if one day we check for "our home port", and it is not open, (like now), it will hurt, but like all other "hurts", it will go away.

I am doiny a lot less, now-faus, due to my eyes, but with the new equipment I have, i can make it "bigger",and see a little more.

How have you been? Getting used to not "being all you can be", like before? It takes some getting used to, but we all walk that trail. We meet a few friends, too, along the way. Always a pleasure!

While posting this, I saw youe post, Chuck, and want to thank you for all you have dine for the gang, and if my 2-cents is worth anything, I hope this home" will always be here. Call it a "rest home", if you wish, but I am sure there will be a lot of us, "resting" here, and reliving old times.

Thank you!

Hey guys... it's been a while since I've commented. I've been really busy with school/work and haven't dedicated much time to collecting. Now I plan to get back to collecting and to growing my collection.

It's a shame to see the forum go, since it helped me so much in learning and building my collection. Sad

Hi Coop!
How are you doing?
BTW, as long as it is still here, let's make good use of it
I can't offer much in the US cents, because I have been very deeply involved in the Die research for the Canadian large cent.
I put together a base of 1000 coins, to check the dies, and marriarages. Natrurally, there are a lot of varieties, which are being logged, and are online in a "living catalog". www.vickycents.com, for any who might be interested. It is part of a much larger project, by DR James Haxby.
His latest efforts in print are in the 2012 Whitman catalog.
While this is primarilydedecated to US copper, the composition is still the same, essencially, and there is a sub-forum, that covers it.
I have gotten some new equipment, and am now able to post full-face photos on line.

Pass the word! We can still make Cguck very happy, with his efforts, in spite of the current
state of the economy.

See "y'all here"!

It is nice to see someone stop by, and say hello!
