Here is the 1956 D and S on ebay. Is it worth $250?

I have no idea what those catalog for.

Observations/comments:
1. Ex-"The Muir (Mutz?) Collection". Who is that? I wonder what else he has/had in the collection.
2. First time seller. (just an observation)
3. For such a nice coin, you'd think the seller would have taken a better photo.
4. He's selling other varieties and unc rolls too. Reckon the 56D roll has been searched? Smile
5. Check out his 1934 DDO:

Is that a $5000 coin?

Was looking at what else he had to offer as well. I personally would not buy that coin based on the slab or picture he provided. I would ask him to send a better pic if possible and see if it has the eye appeal you want. The price is a little high to me, but that would be your preference of course.
As far as that 1934 coin he is auctioning off, it is NOT a $5,000 dollar coin. Even the Cherrypickers guide lists an MS63 at $300.00. I don't see how he can expect $5,000 for an MS62.

Thanks for your input, Robert, Bob; I agree the photo is onot good on either coin,. You can barely read the label on the holder. The request for $5,000 for the 1934 DDO is way off base. I will have to find one myself. Like I said earlier L&C Coin has 3 1956 D and S.

I am not beyond sending an email to this person to find out the answers to a lot of the questions raised here. I am especially concerned about the $5,000 1934, and where he is getting his info from. Should I decide to email him, and he answers back, I will post his replies here. He may be well intentioned, but mis-informed. That's why we are here...right folks!!

I sent him a nice email a little while ago. We will see what answers if any, he sends me, and I will post the result. OK?

I did get a response from the individual from Ebay, and it is below. He seems to be just learning about the auction game, and I think I will take him up on his offer and talk with him on the phone. At least I got a response and he seems receptive to talking about doing things a bit better. He says he has a large error collection, but maybe he has varieties too, and I can entice him to join the forum.

Here is his response to my email:

DEAR BOB,

Thanks for the info Bob. I hate to laugh at Mr. Muir's expense, he sounds like a sincere guy, but his response to providing a better photo was to post a closeup of the holder label, now you cant see the coin at all!!

The 1956 D and S that I linked from Ebay, was going for $150 and did not sell. It has not been relisted yet.
