I did not know that Anacs will put the coppercoins designation on their holders.

I sent a few minor DDOs to them for grading and attribution, I always suggest the variety that I think a coin is so on a 1946-S that I thought was coneca DDO-5 & DDR-1 I suggested that. When I got it back they had attributed it 1DO-002

I'm happy to see they used the coppercoins designation.

I'm still wondering if those are also the same variety, both are DDO and DDR and I think they may be the same variety.

Can you make a photo or scan of the label for me? I want to see what they did. Thanks.

Hi Chuck,

I just sent you pics of your designations on the new ANACs holders. (you can post the pics if you want) Have they been doing this before or am I the first?

There's 3 coins they used your numbers for:

1946 1DO-001
1946-S IDO-002
1953-D 1DO-001

That is great news for Chuck and this site. With the current problems concerning the F/S # and CONECA seemingly going nowhere, there leaves very few choices of what numbering system to use on new discovery pieces / plate coins and such when encapsulating coins.

CONGRATULATIONS to ANACS for a step in the right direction.

Can't be for sure whether or not the attribution service will be ready for an April re-opening. Still lots of work to do, but we'll keep you informed.
